This term you will look at
portraiture in the studio and
exploring obscure close up images.
Lens
A standard lens is a lens that is closest to the human eye in terms of angle of view. It is a 50mm lens with its angle of view of around 58°.
Anything below this lens’ focal length is a wide angle, and anything above is a telephoto. These are the most versatile lenses, used for portrait, landscape and street photography.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is a great example.
Step 1
Research the photographer Lauren Marek, and her series 'Pieces'.
Step 2
in groups of 2's and 3's use the 50mm lens and go into the studio and take close of pictures of your partners face, hands, feet, arms and legs. Try and get as close as possible without the image going blurry, try and stick to auto focus. Get 20/30 photos each. Also get a portrait of your partners face.
Step 3
Get a 3x3 grid from google or use this one. Put one of your best pictures on the grid in photoshop, turn the opacity down of the image and line it up with a square. Once you are happy, use the magic wand tool to select the box and then go to your layer with the image press cmd c and cmd v. Do this with the 9 different squares.

Refine your grid by altering the levels, then flatten images so you have one layer. Then go to Image>Adjustments> Photo filter and then chose cooler filter. So your images work well together.

Lesson 2 Gif
LO- You will make your own moving image in photoshop.
You will use the animation tool on photoshop to create your own gif.
what is a gif?
Step 1
research Gif and put some examples in your book.
Step 2
Open your body pieces collage in photoshop, make sure the seperate squares are in different layers. Once you had done this go to window>Animation. This will open a timeline at the bottom of your photoshop.
Step 3
You build your animation on the timeline at the bottom of photoshop. The layers that have the 'eye' on will be in that frame.
Move a layer or turn on an eye, then add a another frame. Keep repeating this process. To watch your gif back, press the play button. Set the frames to 0.5 seconds.
Step 4
Once you have done the sliding pieces gif. Experiment with ceating a gif of your portrait, add different filters to get different effects.

This lesson you are going to get lots of little clips of film. You will keep the camera still and capture movement. You could film: A ball bouncing, shiny paper, feather moving, bike wheel spinning, glitter, fingers taping, leaves moving outside,light flickering.
Lesson 3
Step 2
Export your gif from photoshop so it is a quick time. Open imovie and start a new project. Import your quicktime into imovie.
Create 6 different film clips that capture movement, don't move the camera.
Put the clips into your imovie and use the picture in picture effect to place the film on top.
Play around with other effects on imovie.
export the film at the end of the lesson.

1. You will pick a word randomly from miss. Hills bowl.
2.You need to mind map the word and come up with loads of ideas that link to the word
3. Research a photographer or artist that links to the work
4.Respond to the artist you have research with a shoot
5. Edit and then animate your best image in photoshop
6. Film 6/7 short clips that link to the word- remember 'capture the movement' don't move the camera. Use a tripod if you can?
