Activity 1 

LO- 

  • make a flip book of images 

  • create a research page

  • use ibooks for your sketchbook! 

Take a series of photos in sequence of a movement or action.

•Take 24-30 frames.

•Download to Iphoto and produce a contact sheet. (3 across the width of the page)

•Cut up the frames (keeping them in sequence) and stick just the left side of the photos together.

•Leave a small white strip on the left of each image in order to stick them together.

the smaller the movements the smoother the animation.

activity 3-plan your group animation

LO-in pairs or three's make a storyboard for your animation. 

Watch some examples of stop motion animations.

•Complete a storyboard that tells a story from start to finish over 6 frames.

•Consider the following: Scenery, characters, materials.

•Scenery – forest, street, room,beach, school, home.

  • Characters – shapes, animalspeople, objects, toys,

•Materials – paper, plastercine, card, found objects etc.

activity 4- make 

LO: To create a stop motion animation inspired by your storyboard using the Ipads and a variety of materials. ​

•Work in pairs to produce your animation.

•Use the white boards to combine illustrations with objects.

•Produce an animation that tells a story

activity 5- present. 

One person from each group will find their animation on the ipads and upload it to Iphoto.

•They will then take 10-12 screenshots of the film and make enough contact sheets for every person in their group.

•These will be presented in your sketchbook with annotation, evaluation and links to your artists research.

Choice 1 - an animated film to advertise a product or cause.

Choice 2 – a film that fits with a song. 

Activity 7- create 

Lo: To create an animation that expresses a message using Timelapse, stop motion and text.

 

In groups come up with an idea for your time lapse.

•Create your Timelapse animation.

•Upload it to Iphoto, screenshot and present in your books.

•Materials: paper, card, whiteboards, found objects, yourselves.
